Joe Steenhuysen
has been coaching volleyball for over 20 years. He and his wife Roxane started their volleyball coach careers at South Christian HS and were there for 7 years. One of their most prominent players, Val Sterk, went on to play at Michigan State University and with various professional organizations. They then went on to take over the East Kentwood program. They were there for 13 seasons and won 2 state championships during that time, along with coaching number All-State performers. Coach Steenhuysen is a constant studier of the game and works a variety of camps throughout the year. He also runs his own set of individual skill camps during the summer.

Ryan Manning
is in his sixth season as an assistant coach at Western Michigan University and his third as associate head coach. Manning has been instrumental in helping WMU to five-straight 20-win seasons for the first time since 1987 and the program's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2000 in 2008. Before coming to WMU, Manning was an assistant coach at East Carolina University (2000-04), Manning served as recruiting coordinator, scouted opponents and served as the director of volleyball camps that were attended by over 200 athletes each year. A native of Woodridge, Ill., Manning spent one year as a volunteer assistant at Western Michigan alongside Munson in 1999. In that season, WMU went 25-7 overall and 15-3 in the Mid-American Conference, while advancing to the MAC Tournament championship match. Manning was also active with the WMU men’s club volleyball team for four seasons as president, captain and coach during his career. He was an accomplished player on the squad as he was a three-time all-conference selection and was named to the All-Midwest 10 team. He was team and Midwest 10 League MVP for WMU in 2000. In addition to his college coaching experience, Manning has coached a variety of prep and junior teams. Last season, his 17 & under squad finished 5th at the AAU Nationals.

Chuck Erbe
brings a wealth of knowledge with him to the program. He has coached at the collegiate and national levels. He has worked extensively with USA volleyball and served as the National Team coach in 1974 and the Jr. National team coach from 1974-1978. In the NCAA he has coached two of the top programs in the country. From 1976-1989 Coach Erbe was the head coach at USC. During that time his program had 7 final four appearances and came away with 4 national championships. Coach Erbe then went on to direct the program at Michigan State University from 1993-2004. In 1995 he again led his team to the final four and they also captured the Big Ten Championship in '95 and '96. For his efforts during the '95 campaign, Coach Erbe was awarded National Coach of the Year honors. During his career Coach Erbe has worked with over 50 All-Americans, 9 Olympians, and 4 National team setters.



Megan Garner
has been working with FaR Out for 10 years. While a player at Cornerstone University, she joined the coaching staff and has worked with every age group from 12s-18s. In 2005 her 16 & under National team qualified for the Junior Olympic Championships and finished 25th. That same group went on to qualify for the gold bracket in 2006 and again finished 25th in 2007. Megan took on the role of co-director of the club in 2006 and continues in the capacity. Megan has gone on to begin her college coaching career as well. She was the first assistant at Taylor University from 2005-2008. She helped turn the program into a conference leader and now a national powerhouse.  She has two seasons as the head coach at Davenport University under her belt and has led her team to two straight 20+ win seasons. Megan works primarily with the FaR Out side of DFFO and oversees the FaR Out youth program. For the combined club she will continue her work on the website and also be the recruiting coordinator.
