Congratulations to Halle Peterson for being selected as a finalist for the Andi Collins Setter of the Year award!



Here's what Prepvolleyball.com had to say about Halle – Coach Kelly Delacher said that the Michigan State-bound Peterson is “the definition of a pure setter. She has incredible set location and runs the floor like a true quarterback. She is able to dissect a defense with her set selection and placement of the ball. She has the highest volleyball I.Q. of any setter that I have coached.” Peterson, whose ACL injury cost her last year’s playoffs, rebounded in 2011 to break the school records for assists in a season with 1433 and assists in a career with 2943. A First Team All-State pick, Peterson led Rockford to its first ever Class A state championship in dominating fashion, as the Rams won their last 34 matches and dropped just one set during the state tournament.

   "DFFO might be the national champions today if not for a perfect Union. Led by setter Katie Schau, MB Leah Perri, RS Kayla Morin and OH Amanda McKinzie, DFFO won both the JVA World Challenge and Dells Showcase events and finished third in the 18s Power League run by the Great Lakes Center, perhaps the most impressive feat of all. DFFO was rolling right along at AAUs, with eight straight wins, when a shocking loss to Union changed everything. Rather than getting a bye into the Championship bracket, with 1st Alliance, Wisconsin Juniors and Sports Performance only standing between it and the finals, DFFO had to play a Challenge match to get to the top eight. And not just against a good team, but an elite KiVA team. KiVA won that battle, 15-11 in the third, not only ending DFFO’s AAU dream, but also its dream of finishing No. 1 in these rankings. DFFO did shake off the KiVA loss with three straight wins to close the year, including a three-set win over Milwaukee Sting to finish ninth overall."
